Finally after waiting a little over a year to put some optics on her I scrounged up some money and headed over to the awesome fellas at euro optics based in Pennsylvania. I got the one piece Nightforce direct mount for the R700 LA w/ integrated 20 MOA cant, a bubble level, angle degree indicator, and a Night Force NXS 12-42 w/ CH-2 reticule.

It's been accurized by Kevin Cram of MC rifles with a full action bed, target recessed recrown, lapped scope rings and locking lugs. She shoots like a dream come true. Prior toward getting the rifle I knew I wanted to shoot 208 grain a-max's. I asked around on the forums repeatedly and people have been always telling me they could never get under an inch with the Sendero SF II using the 208 a-max's, although it would consistently keep 1 MOA out to 1000 yards. This is the 3rd load I've tried and all the others shot with the same precision, but didn't have the velocity I wanted, but the 92 grain charge puts me where I want. Here was the load I developed out of my rifle.

Case: Remington
Case trim to length: 2.835"
Propellant: Hodgdon Retumbo
Charge weight: 92 grains
Primer: Federal 215 large rifle magnum
COAL: 3.800"
Projectile: .308 caliber 208 grain A-MAX

Then here is the 4 shot group at 100 yards I am consistently achieving.

Will be shooting past 1000 yards when I upgrade the old bushnell legend rangefinder to a Leica CRF-1600 smile Trust me, I know it's not the best long range rig, but it's definitely a good starter rig for me, as I'm only a freshman in college!

Good job Braxton!

What velocity are you getting?

I've found the 200-NAB to be a good, consistant bullet.

You might consider a Jewell trigger. $225 but simply fantastic at very light pulls and a light trigger is a godsend on a target rifle IMHO.... with the Sendero II you don't even have to remove material from the stock to clear the Jewell.

How many MOA of elevation do you have available to go "up", from your 100 yard zero?

I was very much considering getting the jewell trigger, but I've decided I was gonna wait until my next build to get one. I love the idea of my long range rifle having the same trigger pull weight as one of my feinwerkbau precision airguns when I was younger, like 2 ounces smile Although I am believe it or not, very content with the X mark pro trigger installed from factory on my rifle.

The NF 12-42x56 NXS has 45 MOA of internal elevation adjustment and the direct mount for the scope has an integrated 20 MOA cant. So I have a gross of 65 MOA, but I had to come up 3 MOA from the bottom to get a 100 yard zero, talk about cutting it close!

Dang cool rifle, The sendero's are great rifles. I have had 3 or 4 in the 300 ultra. Best thing I found for accuracy was to make sure the actions screws were torqued equally. Seems like I was going 55 inch/lbs .I shoot 200 gr accubonds at about 3150 fps. Nice setup! Have fun!

Nice rifle. For accuracy you may want to try some Berger 210's. They will take that space out of your group. I have borescoped several Sendero's recently and am very impressed with how smooth and consistant the factory barrels are on these. The roughest factory barrels so far are on the Remington SPS rifles. Even with a crooked chamber one of my customers SPS 300 ultras shoots 1/2 MOA with 200 grain Accubonds like it was some sort of custom. A muzzle brake will make it easier to focus on shooting it. With a brake on it you may find yourself using it for varminting. A Holland style would be my pick.

nice rifle.

What size bipod and which rear bag are you using? I'm not sure whether to get the shorter or taller bag for a 6"-9" bipod.

Thanks
