Got a run-down of the build? Not sure I've read it before but a basic rundown of weight, stock choice, bbl, etc would be sweeeet.

Your M7 SS in 7mm SAUM Barrel and bolt fluting/skelotonizing and handle by Kampfeld. Gre-Tan shroud and liteweight pin. Rifle Basix Trigger. Mcmillan Hunter's EDGE, bedded with JB Weld. Talley's, bedded with JB weld. Loopy 3-9x40 with Dotz.
Only thing I would do different again is not do the Knob. It works great with gloves, but I'm not seeing a good cost/benefit on it. Slabbing sounds intriguing. If you're going for as lightweight as possible, grind and flute everywhere. Every ounce adds up. Do get a good recoil pad. This rig has got some snap on the backside when you light it off. Cerrocote not needed on this rig, either, but if you want it, go for it.
It shoots lights out, and feeds good. I took that Elk at 521 lasered yards this last Saturday.

UNLOADED.... WORTHLESS POS! LOL SWEET LOCO, Something tells me you are proud of that one! As many admirers, don't auction it off, your next may not shoot so well. Congrats on that Elk, when 'preparedness met opportunity'...

Well...the rifle is bought and should make it to my place tomorrow....
Now the decisions on a stock choice....I'm down to the following....
McMillan Hunters EDGE McMillan Mtn Rifle McMillan Classic
I've got a Classic on my LVSF and I'd like something a bit different on this one. Not sure about the bbl contour on the 7SAUM and how it would work with the Hunters EDGE or the Mtn. Anyone know the difference in the foreend of each the Mtn or Hunters EDGE?

Barrel contour is factory remington magnum. Hunter's Edge is perfect for it.

I'm thinking Rancho has it rather figured out.
I'd "borrow" that blueprint, easily.

I have the Model 7 in a 7saum. McM Edge Classic. Dnz Mounts. 6x42. Jewel Trigger and Gre Tan FP. Does really good with the 162 Amax bullets. Bonus points if you use duct tape for your drop chart..

Johnny got some 7 Saum love this year too. I take it up to the alpine because the boys can shoot it really well off a backpack. But, I'd hardly consider it a LWT, considering the other rifles I have in my safe.

Just got the Model 7 today from my buddy who picked it up...
I gotta say, the foreend on the 'stock' tupperware is a trim little peice. How does it compare to the Mtn Rifle or the Hunter's EDGE.
That rifle of Loco's is sweet as all hell...but I sure do wonder what both stocks would look like side by side!

Thats the factory Model 7 beside the Hunters EDGE?
Do you know what the Mtn Hunter fore-end looks like compared to the Hunters EDGE or the factory tupperware?

Sounds like a cool build T. One concern I would have is the muzzle blast from the 22"(?) factory barrel - my partner had a 7mmRM with 22" tube and it was harsh. However, the short tube makes for a handy rifle. Keep us posted.

Other Canadian stock maker options are Wildcat Composites and Robertson Composites.. I have a Wildcat stock bedded and painted by a fellow in Kamloops (brno284 I believe).. He has done other brands of stocks also so I would ask him for his opinion as to what he thinks about various synthetic stocks.. http://wildcatcomposites.com/index.htmlhttp://robertsoncomposites.com/index.htmlI have the same rifle as you and will be getting one of the above stocks myself..

Yes that's OEM on the bottom and the McEdge. As for the Mtn Hunter, you should contact Steelhead, I think he has pix of his two somewhere.

BRNO284 is actually my 'smith at the moment and will be doing all my work. Mitch is a great guy and does awesome work. I've talked about EDGE and Lone Wolf stocks with him, but keeping all options open. I had a Wildcat a few years ago and it was a great stock as well.
