Sharp eye chrome, I like those rings! Not really a faux ti but I'm gonna see how a CDL Whelen does in a first gen. ti stock, should be lively....

JOC was right. The 270 Winchester on a Model 70 is a great combination as is the 30/06 and 375 H&H

Well . . . sorta. I believe that the desired model for a Faux Ti is the Mountain Rifle stock (2950 series). At least that's what I used on my first Faux Ti .280

Ingwe,

That really is a nice rifle. The more I see it, the more I like it.

Good job on putting it together!

My Faux Ti came that way from the factory - Rem 700 Mountain Guide special edition run for Gander Mountain.

It'll do this with the Campfire load of 44.0 RL15 and the 120 TSX...

I have the Whelen in a first generation TI stock with Talley lightweights and Leupold 2.5-8x36. It is a "bit of a hanfull", but will shoot into an inch if I do my part. Lead sled is nice for load work up!

I've posted this one before - also started as a Gander Mtn Guide rifle, now a faux 243. Shoots 95 grain Fusion ammo in nice lttle groups. I like it a lot.

I'm thinking Cub has sense enough to go with a 1-8" twist, unlike some others I know but won't mention by name.

Love the Faux Ti. Mine's just a take off with X Mark trigger and a standard '06 action and barrel bedded with a FXII6x36 in talley lightweights. Great feeling/carrying rifle.

These Ti stocks are so much better than the standard synthetic factory stocks i'm used to.
