We aim to please. There's no point in posting a sale if the sale items or prices are only so so.

How do the 15x56's compare to the 15x58's? I've read the specs and see that they're lighter, are waterproof, etc., but I'm curious about general performance. Thanks in advance for the info.

I cannot give a real answer as we were sold out of the 15x58's when the 15x56's came in, however, if a side by side with the 13x56 BL vs the 15x58 is a fair judge then they are extremely close

Aspherical describes the physical characteristics of a type of lens design. ED refers to the response of light passing through glass with specific chemical composition. Aspherical lenses can be ground from ED glass.

ED glass allows light to pass through with minimized dispersion of the light bundle due to properties resulting from it's chemical composition.

Aspherical lenses are ground with "multiple" curvatures of it's surface rather then a continuous "spherical" (think ball) surface. Such lenses are used to do the "work" of multiple lens elements allowing better optical performance with fewer total lenses- lighter weight and brighter systems.

One is not better then the other and they are utilized for different purposes and are often used together.

Hope this is helpful. Let me know if you require additional information or clarification.

I have been looking at the Minox 8X33HG but am a bit confused. What is the deal with the new German version? I thought Minox was made in Germany. Can you set me straight on the difference between the old version and the "new German" version? Thanks.

The old version was made in Japan with German Schott glass. Those are all discontinued and no longer available.
The new HG series are made in Germany and have a wider FOV

Are the Minox HG 8.5x52 BR ASPH listed in the sales the newer German made?

I'm interested in this model. They look perfect for the type of hunting I do.

Doug, is the glass the same in the bf 8x42 as the bv 8x42 br arctic? I have the arctic hunter's and am very pleased with them. My brother is looking for something similar, but he didn't want the snow camo.
