OK. I'm getting ready to give this a try but I got a couple of questions.
I never hear anyone talk about whether they take out any material where they are going to apply the bedding material. I always thought you needed to take out, say an 1/8", of material so the bedding will have a place to fill & the action doesn't sit higher in the stock. Is this correct?
Another question; If a barrel is free floated, why do some still do a full length bedding job? Is this for strength & prevent warping?
And the last question (for now); does anyone have step by step pics for doing a pillar job?
OK. I think thats it for now. Thanks to all who reply.
Oh heck, whats one more. Has anybody ever thought or tried using All-Metal body filler for bedding jobs? Heres a couple sites if you've never heard of it. I've used it for body repair & I think it might work well for bedding.
