I read on old posts that the eye relief is too small. When I compare it too the 2.5x8 it is 3(4) compaired to 3.5(4.6) is a half inch that big of a deal? I am looking for a scope for a Remington Ti 270.

Run, don't walk, from that scope. Stick with the 2.5-8 or a fixed 6.

The half inch in the specs doesn't tell the whole tale.

Not only is the eye relief shorter, but it is also much more critical.

Any problem with the 1.5x6 VX3? The VX3 2.5x8 looks to short to mount on a long action.

I have a 1.75-6x32 VX-III and have no problems with it, but I haven't put it on a long action.

The Leupy lw 3-9x is awful.
I will never have one again-you couldn't pay me enough to run that scope!

I use a 1.75x6 on a 416 Rem Mag. More than 200 rounds from the bench and hunts so far and no issues whatsoever. I also have a 2.5x8 on a 375 H&H and it works fine.

,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,EDM................Measure the distance between your rings (outside to outside) and go to the Leupold site and check out the mounting tube lengths for your possible scope choice.

The 2.5-8x36 VX3 should work ok.

but will not work on a 700 long action with ex-low Talleys as the power change ring won't clear the top of the base portion of the ring mount. Use the Talley lows to fit this scope.

An FX-II 4x33 fits an M700 long action perfectly with ex-low Tallys. Nice, light and simple! I have the same for my 270Win.
