So I looked at the Edge Ultralight ad on the sidebar. It says it takes 20-25 weeks to complete the order. Is this right?!

Yes. It gives you time to make payments but the wait is worth it. RH

Well worth the wait, IMO. I think I have 7 Edge stocked rifles.

McMillan makes a darned fine stock. Worth the wait. Order now and you'll have the whole thing all put together and ready well before next hunting season.

Yup, that is what I've decieded to do with my vanguard. I am ordering next pay day, putting $50 down and then about $100 a month till its ready. Can't wait for my Vanguard to shed some weight!
Anyone have some pics of their edge's they feel like posting?

Anyone out there do a 375 H&H with a edge fill? I called McMillan today and they said no. Can it be done? I really don't want a 40 oz. stock for my rifle. If High Tech Specialties can do it, why can't McMillan do the same?

Unless you have a short barrel, the Edge won't balance worth a chit. Get a regular McSwirly.

My barrel is fluted and 20 inches in length so I am thinking it will balance ok. Just worried about the stock cracking.

If High Tech Specialties can do it, why can't McMillan do the same? Check with D'Arcy Echols to see if he would suggest the use of his Legend stock in Edge fill. He can install SS recoil pins The weight of my stock w/o paint, pad, swivel studs, etc was 21 oz. 435-755-6842. This is my 9.3x62 in a Pre 64 M70 in a Legend, Edge filled, stock. Alan

Does your Classic McSwirly have the standard or magnum fill? Any chance of some pictures? I am trying to reach the 7.5 pound mark if I can. I plan on giving D'Arcy a call also. Thanks for all the tips.

The wait might be a skosh less than 20-25 weeks anymore. All those waiting until the very last week of the sale to slam me with orders can disregard that statement. Early birds, however, do get the worm. (HINT!) A standard fill (fiberglass) McMillan will weigh 32-34 ounces, and is PERFECT in my opinion, for a .375 H&H. That's what I have on mine (22-inch #5). I would have to agree that an EDGE is overdoing it on a .375 H&H. The concerns about balance and recoil are well founded, IMO. I think EDGEs are the best stock on the market, bar none. But in this case, the standard McM is better suited to the task. rb

Thanks for the info Rick. I talked to D'Arcy today and they did not recommend the edge fill even with modifications for a 375 H&H. I plan on putting my order in today for a supergrade stock with the standard fill.

I like my Edge, which is a Hunter, not a Classic. I had McMillan replace the 1/2 inch pad with a full 1 inch pad, increasing the LOP to 14 inches. Perfect for a long-armed knuckle-dragger like myself. The weight on mine is 23.5 oz (I think). Here's a pic of my nephew with the rifle. Currently the stock is holding a Rem 700 donor action--a .30-06 with a mtn contour barrel. The complete rifle as pictured with a sling and 9 rounds of ammo on/in it weighs 7lbs 10oz. Someday, it's going to be a .280AI.
