Joe
I have a .41 Mag Blackhawk also so the Marlin seemed a natural match. The two even like the same hunting load!
I live in Southern Michigan which is a Shotgun zone, Handguns are permitted that fit certain restrictions, caliber/straight wall case etc.
Dad lives in Indiana and at 81 is still able to get out there so I buy the license and go. Indiana allows rifles in their shotgun zones that fire certain cartridges, 41 Mg, 44 Mag 45 Colt etc. I shot a buck last year down there a little bigger than this one with the Blackhawk so decided to use the rifle this year.
245 grain Gas Checked Hard Cast (Custom mold by Mikes Bullet Molds, Deer Trail Co.) and a good dose of H110. Put it through both shoulders they drop right there and you can "eat right up to the hole".
