I'd do a PACNOR light weight or a #1. I'd also go no longer than 23" and have a 1.0-1.5" shank. Another option would be to go with a Remington sporter or magnum contour and have it fluted.
Pac Nor #1 is close but it does have a bit of a shank where the factory KS doesn't. Remfak here had Pac Nor duplicate his factory barrel so they will do that for you. Some claim the Lilja #1 is pretty darn close but it has a shank too.
As for cutting it at 24", I won't have a .270 with less than that. For years I ran 22" .270's and felt alright but when I tried a 24" barrel I decided that the 2 extra inches was zero impediment and I picked up a full 100 fps. Ken Waters and JOC both reported 100 fps gain when they went with a 24" barrel too.
The Chosin Few November to December 1950, Korea. I'm not one of the Chosin Few but no more remarkable group of Americans ever existed.
Would you please expand on this answer. Why do you feel 24" is too long?

Who offers this contour? Can I get one from I.T.&D?
I think someone posted that Lilja does. If you check their Existing factory contours, the one they call RemMtn24 I think is the KS contour.
I'm about to do this same thing and in looking I will probably go with a Brux #2 contour which should be really close. The KS is .60 at the muzzle which is what the Brux #2 shows. Or I suppose someone could dup the profile for you??

I just mailed off a Lilja RemMtn to get put on a Ti action. It'll be 22". The issue is balance, IMO. Edge stocks are light, and are best served with a 22" BBL. The 22" barrel is also great when you are hiking up and down mountains with the rifle slung across you back. A 24" barrels does a great job of catching branches, logs, etc..
