First of all I would like to say that I am a Leupold customer and have had good luck with their products. Hence, when I received my Cabela's Christmas catolog, and saw Leupolds switch power binoculars at 30% off I was excited. But, I am concern that there might be some draw backs with these since they are marked down this much. Anyone have any thoughts?
Thanks.

Yeah, save your receipt and Cabela's will take them back if they don't work for you!

The switchpower, is a compromise optic. I am thinking they are not as good as the optic would be in either power. Not a big seller, and so, be careful.

I spent an afternoon at the optics counter looking over the Leupold HD's, the Steiners, and the switchpowers.

The low-light and clarity was just not there with the switchpowers, I own the HD's now, and with them, we got dad a nice 5x5 late in the day in Colorados rifle saeson

Check Leupolds website, they still have a $100 rebate on the HD's if you buy before Jan 1st.

I was trying to talk myself into the 10/17 switch powers but couldn't quite do it. I looked at them and liked them in the shop but it's hard to really check them out in that setting. I read the on line reports that they were compromise glass and that was enough for me to pass on them.....but, at 30% off, I think I might go back and get them. But, Cabelas is still showing them at $899. That's the same price as they were when I looked at them. 30% off would make them more like $670. What price do they show in the Christmas catalog?

There was also a $200 rebate from leupold a while back. Ask if it's still on.
