I just purchased a Savage .223 for some predator hunting. I already had a bull barrel gun I traded for but wanted something lighter to carry into the field. I should receive the gun next week sometime. Today I run across a Savage chambered in a .204 for $350. A buddy is willing to sell to me at this price. Never considered this caliber but after doing some research it seems like a awesome round. Never needed a good reason to buy a gun so I am sure this one will follow me home. What say the experts, should I add her to the safe.

Not an expert but I do love the 204, I have shot a couple yotes with mine and seem to do a fine job also have shot a butt load or prairie dogs with the 204. $350 I guess if it looked good don't have much to lose!

.204Ruger with 40gr.VMAX is awesome and with flawless Savage performance too.

Good luck with your new rifle.

yea if I were you and could afford it I'd pick it up two. That away your .223 can have another savage buddy to keep him company in the safe wink

That's funny Brett, if I bought a savage I'd have to put it in the other safe with the shotguns because the rugers and winchesters wouldn't get along with it grin

Told my buddy I would take it. Told the wife it's a early Christmas gift for myself. Hopefully she can't tell the difference between .223 and a .204.

I kept thinking that with my wife too, but they catch on when you have to buy another gun cabinet blush
