By fully done up I take it you mean sling and rounds? Yepper I'd go with a T3 and rock on.

Mine is sub MOA in real life, not internet measurement.

Yeah, I understand the real life measurements as some people thing 1.5 inches is sub moa. He will tailor hand loads to it so I might look into it.

Winchester Model 70s are pretty inexpensive. If they have a Dick's Sporting Goods nearby the laminated stock Remington 700SPS is $549.00 and includes a cheap scope and mounts. It will outshoot just about anything you can buy.

Sako A7 should also be under $750.

It'll go right around 7.5lbs with scope/sling/ammo.

Weird, I couldn't find the Sako A7 website either. They used to have one but it didn't show up in a quick search.

Here's listings at gunbroker. Should be specs in there somewhere.

People seem to have goodluck with them, haven't heard of any accuracy issues.

Sako A7 link
Supposedly, they are all capable of 5 shot groups of under 1 MOA, "with proper ammunition". I haven't shot mine yet, but fully expect that level of performance based on what others have reported. Not sure you can get one in 30-06 for under $750, I lucked out on mine from Cabela's on special for $599, but it was .243 Win only.

Ok so heres my question after looking at things...

He just bought a 300wsm but wants something that has cheaper available factory ammo to shoot all the time with and shoot whitetails and the occasional elk with what would you all go with.

How much does he like the 300 WSM? If he's in love with it, he can start handloading (or buddy-up to someone who does) to get his shooting costs down. I personally don't see much reason in getting another .30 caliber to do pretty much the same thing as what he owns. (Flame away, all.) If he got either the .308 or the '06, he could sell the WSM, and not be missing a whole lot, IMO.

As for the $750 limit, I'd suggest he cruise the classifieds here. I used to only consider new rifles, but have since come to believe that when you can find a well cared-for used rifle (like this one) with target pics to prove its accuracy, that trumps a NIB rifle that's still an unknown entity. And... if he choses to sell the WSM, he could add the proceeds to that $750...

Just sayin'.

He just bought a mountain TI so he is not parting with that yet..I didn't even ask him what he paid for it but I know he is not parting ways with it yet. and he reloads already so the cost of loading a wsm isn't bad at all its just something he wants.

I trie telling him he needs to get a .33 or something to go with it but he isn't sure. And thus all my questions for you guys.
