I am really starting to love my 7SAUM. I have always considered myself to be a .300mag guy, but this 7 gets it done. I have taken it out twice and this makes two years in a row it has brought home the meat! This year I used a 175gr NP, 64gr RL17 for around 2900fps. This was a one shot DRT at 210 yds with a complete passthrough. Last years bull was a little bigger, but it is all the same to me...I love DIY public land elk hunting!

Great job, thanks for sharing.
I try to stick with the basics, they do so well. Nothing fancy mind you, just plain jane will get it done with style. You want to see an animal drop right now? Shoot him in the ear hole. BSA MAGA

Nice bull. Arizona?
That 175 load is smoking. I only get 2950 with 7RM using that bullet.

Saw LOTS of bulls this year. Had shots at much larger bulls, but let others who have never taken an elk try at them first. We had four tags in camp this year, but nobody could hit anything...very frustrating! I ended up shooting this one, so we could at least have some meat hanging in camp. The other three tags went unfilled Still was a very exciting hunt, with lots of action.

I love my 7mm SAUM as well. My 168 Berger load in a 22" barrel clocks 2875 and very accurate. Nice public land Bull as well. Congrats! Lee
