I can not decide on what GPS is best for me. The Garmin Oregon or The Rino 530. What features are best? People who own them, why do you like the features of either one?
I like the big screen and compatibility of the Oregon but most of my buddies have the Rino.
Comments? reviews?

Rhino 530Hcx for me. The GPS will do more than I'll ever need, plus I have the convenience of a built in radio. Anything I can do to eliminate a piece of equipment (separate GPS and radio) is tops in my book, especially if the guys you hunt with have them.

I agree with GreatWaputi Rhino 530HCX
If there is any proof of a man in a hunt it is not whether he killed a deer or elk but how he hunted it.

I have the Oregon and love it. Very easy to use. Wouldn't hesitate to buy another. Haven't tried the other but plenty of guys seem to love that particular unit.

I have the Oregon 400. I like it. There is no way I can put it through its paces enough for it to ask for a break. What I am capable of with it makes it a wonderful tool.

I'd be inclined to go with a dedicated GPS. If I want a radio, I will buy one.

the antenna's are supposed to be better / stronger on the rino units.
however the oregon is one heck of a unit, add the "T" behind the name and you've got a camera as well.

When I surf for GPS antennae manufacturers, the Rhino name never appears. In the US, Trimble pretty much has the market nailed down. If one can write a little code and owns a PDA, he can have a top of the line antenna for about $35.

Comments? reviews? I bought a RINO 530 HCx last year and sold it this year. The crew I hunt with in Oregon decided to use RINOs, but when push came to shove I had the only one. I found the RINO a radio with a GPS attached, I especially missed an actual altitude measurement. Also my Garmin 60 Cx has a better user interface for navigating than the 530 does. jim
