When we were out at the cabin yesterday we noticed a lot of tracks, some deer, but mostly wolf.

The trail groomer has been out on the forest trails so a snowmobile trip would be good any time now.

Also we checked on one of the logging operations close by to see if they were cutting 8' lengths. They are, and there is a lot of end pieces and under diameter logs left there. Nate and I shucked some of it in the back of the truck for cabin firewood but we'll want to go back for more. We could use some at home, it's green stuff so we won't burn it till next year but it would be good to have some piled at home for next year.

It's made by England's stove works in Monroe, VA

So far it seems to be doing well for us.

We didn't see any wolf tracks by us this year, but did see coyote tracks and also heard them. Does this mean that the wolves have moved out?

They move in and out of areas, like a swarm of bees milling around on a large prairie.

The amount of tracks I saw yesterday makes me think a pack is moving through. I've seen it in past years too, heavy wolf tracks, minimal deer sign.. then in a couple weeks no wolf tracks and heavy deer sign.

I'd like to get some of those wolves on camera. My camera batteries are dead now though and they don't last long at all in the winter in that old flash style trail camera.

Yeah we had the tucker out friday night after I rewired the charging system and then again Saturday morning. It's a lot of fun, haven't been able to get it stuck yet.

How is the fishing on the west side?

I would say yes, but I'm not 100% sure.

That's BS, all it means is that they are flying wolves.

Not to worry. Flying wolves migrate of course.

Like they wouldn't be federally protected.

We're not talking about flying coyotes, these are flying wolves.
