270gr Barnes X (the old ones, not the TSX)
Just a couple of moose -- bullets not recovered (both may still be going for all I know!).

The only bullets that I hunt with from my .375 Ultra mag are Barnes TSX. The first time I took this rifle to Africa I used 300 gr TSX bullets at 2830 fps. I shot Buffalo, Chobe Bushbuck, Zebra, Common Reedbuck, and Nyala. The second time I took this rifle to Africa I used 270 gr TSX bullets at 3043 fps. I shot Cape eland, Cape kudu, 2 Steenbok, Black springbok, Tsessebe, Red Lechwe, Bontebok, 2 Gemsbok, Cape Bushbuck, Jackal, and Vaal Rhebok. Both of these TSX bullets shoot 3 shot MOA groups to 200 yds in my rifle. The TSX bullets completely passed through all the animals smaller than Kudu, there was very large exit holes in the smallest animals.

260 gr Nosler Accubond at a modest 2620 fps did a fine job on a Washington black bear at just over 300 yards. Complete penetration and a very dead bear. Accurate as all get out too.
I also tested them on water-filled one-gallon plastic milk jugs at 20 yards, and the Accubond did real well.

I find it my duty to report that a 300 gr. Noster Partition will not expand on a lungshot deer. On the other hand it is still mighty effective...this deer redefined the term "Dead Right There". At the shot I lost the deer in the recoil - It went down so fast I thought I might have missed it...

Hey Buffy, how do you like your 375 RUM? I see that the boys at Shedhorn have a used one and I've been kind of thinking about taking a look at it?
I've found the 300 RUM's to be incredibly accurate, have you found the same to be true about the 375? Thinking it could be a heck of a fine long range elk rig?
Is yours braked and or ported? I'd most likely magnaport it but would not brake it.
Thx Dober

Another vote for the 270 TSX over 75 gr of Rl 15.....I also shoot the 270 gr Hornady soft point for practice cause I got a bunch of them cheap... this kudu got very dead very quickly via a 270 TSX (and six other animals including zebra too!) Here are two I recovered from a Gemsbok.....

270 gr TSX over 74 gr RL-15. Have taken Zebra, Gemsbok,Kudu, Waterbuck, Impala, and Warthog all with one shot. Complete pass through and resulting good blood trail in all cases although all dropped within sight.

I've got two bags of BBC's on the shelf for my 375, awaiting a critter worthy of me using them. Can't recall 4 sure but it seems like there were 270's or so?

For medium game ( elk sized critters) I always liked the garden variety 270 Gr. hornady...got flawless performance at about 2550 fps. on lots-o-critters. Bigger critters got the 300 gr. Swift A-frame and/or monolithic solids... Sold my .375 before I ever got to try a 270 TSX in it, but I have a feeling I'd be using that boolit if I were still using that rifle....

Ingwe:Today, with bullets, the world is our huckleberry;but we are both old enough to remember when Hornady was about the only 375 bullet around, along with whatever screw machine Partitions or BBC's a guy could scrounge.
Seems about anything made in 375 was always at least decent, but premiums back then were hard to find....

True dat Bob...and it wasn't that very long ago....not much out there in even the early to mid 90s..you could get premiums..but you had to scrounge...and a monolithic solid..forget it!
