I now have a 308 and quite a bit of h 4350 on hand but I can't find any data for it. Want to use 165 gr. hornady sp. Is it too slow? I use it in my 7mm-08 and it works great.

I shoot a good bit of 308 and 4350 isn't even on my radar. Too slow.

Not with a 220gr its not ... otherwise yes its too slow. It can be used, but you'll be about 200fps off top speeds with a more suitable powder. Cheers... Con

I have used compressed loads of H4350 with the Hornady 180 grain Spirepoint in the .308 Winchester. Accuracy was excellent with muzzle velocity exceeding 2,600 fps. While H4350 is too slow for best velocity with the 165,it's worth trying if data is available. Good accuracy might offset any velocity reduction.

Just get the .308 rechambered to 06 and the 4350 will work just fine.

As mentioned, 4350 is too slow for maximum velocity in the 308 - but that's no reason not to use it if you have plenty. Your rifle might shoot some impressive groups with it. Remember, while everybody can admire a target, nobody can even guess how fast the bullets went through it.

True. True. However the trajectory may not be very flat if the velocity is low and you use heavy bullets.
