Some of you bowhunters here knew 'Timberline' on the 'fire. He was the editor of Inside Archery and Bow hunt America. Sudden heart attack at 58. Thought you should know....Don

I was fortunate to meet Bill a couple of years ago when he came up and did a brown bear hunt.I didn't guide him but got to spend some time with him around camp after he was successful.

He was a super nice guy.Really seemed to have a deep appreciation of nature. Not a guy there just to mark off another animal but for the whole experiance.Don't get many like Bill in camp anymore.

Bill and his family will be in my thoughts.

That is shocking and very sad news. I just knew Bill through a few short PMs and his immensely informative, beautifully written accounts of his hunting trips on the Kifaru forum. A good human being, family man, and hunter.

About a month ago I got a PM from Timberline - just a question about the color on one of my stocks which Bill thought looked nice. He asked me to email him some additional pictures which I did. Anyway, over the next several weeks he and i exchanged a number of emails and found we shared a passion for antelope hunting. Although I'm mostly a rookie when it came to antelope, he was gracious and shared a lot of info with me.

Bill seemed like a heck of a nice guy and I sure enjoyed his great posts and pictures - in my last email from him on the 30th, he suggested we should meet up in 2011 since we both planned on hunting the same Wyoming antelope unit. I was very much looking forward to meeting him, this is really sad news to hear.

Wow.....I remember reading his stuff back when I was a teenager addicted to bowhunting. I was surprised and glad to see him here at the campfire. He will be missed.

Condolences to his family and friends......

Bill's obituary is at www.mem.com, and then enter his last name.

This is Bill's wife, Sherry, and I would really appreciate all your nice comments posted there. It's comforting to read. Thank you.

Awesome sig, my condolences to the family and friends. Mourn his passing, but never forget to celebrate his life! He sounds like he was a wonderful man and a credit to our way of life. I'll have to review his posts sometime.

I saw this post , and ran to get my checkbook! That rifle is now far & away my favorite.

I knew at the time that I was dealing with an accomplished wordsmith, but I had no idea about Bill's background or enterprises. I was glad enough to know him simply as a gentleman and fellow rifle enthusiast.

More prayers & condolences to the family, these from Southwest Ohio.

Bill will be missed BADLY.

I had the blessing of chatting with Bill off and on discussing bows and bowhunting.

Its a huge loss.

God Bless

Bill's wife, Sherry, is posting here. Bill and I formed Zebra Publishing Inc. in 1997, and co-founded Inside Archery (1998) and Bowhunt America (2003) magazines. You can check it out at www.bowhuntamerica.com. Bill was my brilliant partner and wonderful husband. RIP Bill. I will love you forever.
