best Savage 99 reading is right here... guaranteed. Spend sometime going through the old posts... you can use the search function and look back over several YEARS of post...

Not a lot out there for reading, but probably have a few links to some articles I can put up for you in a couple of hours. Take what's in them with a big old grain of salt, tho.

Don't know if you've browsed the pics from the 2010 Fest or not, but that might keep you busy for a while.

I could probably do up my pictures for the 2007 and 2009 Midwest fests into the same format for browsing. Would even be willing to add pictures from other folks into those collections as well, if folks here would be interested?

Calhoun, I for one would definitely be interested in the pics. I continue to learn so much here. Being a 99 newbie, I want all the stuff and info I can get. Addicted probably isn't the word for me, more like obsessed. I luv these guns.

I'd gladly make the trip but I respect the wishes of the implied host.

Summer would be a much easier time to get away for a Fest, even if the heat and humidity are worse. Definitely don't want to push anybody towards hosting a fest that doesn't want to, it's way too much work and effort to wish on anybody who's not seriously eager to do it. At some point it'd be fun if Savage Arms had space for us to use, and would be willing to give walkthroughs of the manufacturing areas to us.

I'd offer to host one, but who the heck wants to come to Nebraska?

Is there even enough interest to have a Fest every year, or would we get better attendance if we went to bi-annual? This should probably move to it's own thread..


And as to pics from previous Fests, I'll start working on getting that set up like I've got the 2010 pics. Probably take me a week or two. If anybody wants to donate their pictures, PM me and we'll figure out a way to get them to me.

Key West in wintertime would be my suggestion. Or any other place where there are thongs in abundance! (Certainly not Nebraska where they're bundled up like Nanook of the North! )
