I want to put an Aimpoint on my Nova for predator hunting but this receiver is not drilled and tapped. I see some saddle mounts but has anyone ever drilled and tapped a Nova receiver? Is there metal under that molded part?

Is there metal under that molded part? I don't think the metal underneath the receiver is thick enough for tapping , it is there only for a wear point for the bolt assembly. I would use a saddle mount only on that shotgun. YOu can also try a cantilever mount or a scout type scope setup.

I am hoping that someone can tell me definitively that they have tried it and it worked or didn't. I am thinking that I can tap 3 or 4 holes and then Devcon it in place too.

I think the top of the receivers are different on the D&T Novas. Not 100% though. Seems to me, D&T models have a flat grove on top for a base whereas non-D&T models are round? Saddle mounts are a little tricky on Novas. Lots of flex on the receiver. Easy to "bind" the action when tightening down. Hope this helps. Tom

If I can find the right rail. I am going to drill and tap about 4 holes and glue that sucker on. Hoping the 3 1/2" mags don't shake that M2 loose!

Yes they can be drilled and tapped, BUT it needs to be done by someone who has done it before. Rob Roberts. Google him. He does factory work for Benelli. Yes there is metal under the plastic but it is skeletonized, that's why is should be done by someone experienced. http://www.robrobertsgunworks.com/
