Has anyone fished the Temple Fork rods? A google search kicked up a lot of positive reviews, but I like feedback from the Campfire family. What I know is they're Korean made, and sold from Texas. They've got a no-fault warranty with a $25 deductable, and they're supposed to be pretty good casters. Lefty Kreh endorses them which I guess is a good start, unless he's got a gambling addiction or something, and needs the cash. <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif" alt="" />

I've cast them but not fished them...for the money, I'd say they're hard to beat.....I know some that swear by them.....I think they're a fine rod...for what they are....Boots

I fished with one once. It seemed like a good rod, and with that kind of warranty, how can you loose? Even if it isn't your bestest, most favorite rod in the world, you can always use it as your loaner or trainer for your buddys. That way if they break it, they pay the $25 and you get a new one.

They are great value and seem to cast nicely. The guys on Dan Blanton's board love em.

Just remember that YOU GET WHAT YOU PAY FOR. replacement warranties will tell you what the value is and if it is only $25-that is the value. Rods can't be replaced for free or a small amount of $ and be good rods.

I understand the theory, as it usually applies to consumer goods. However, I've heard that most of the big names in flyrods will repair/replace broken rods that are not the result of product flaws, for the sake of a good reputation for customer service. There is also a point of diminishing return with flyrods. I'd love some of the rods out there that cost $500-600, but if I can get 85% of the performance for 25% of the cost, I'm money ahead until I've "arrived" so to speak.
Leupold scopes are probably the most respected, and purchased scopes in America because of their high quality AND their 100%, no questions asked, no charge warranty. To say that their warranty impies that their scopes are junk is carelessly stupid.

Reelhook, I am afraid I don't agree with you. Over the years, I have broken 3 rods. An Orvis, a Loomis, and a Winston. All have been replaced free of charge with me only paying the shipping. Replacement warranties do not indicate the real value of the covered rod. In my case, the replacement warranty cost $0

All the top manufacturers wil replace if it breaks. I think the best way to buy a rod is to string it up and try it out before you put your credit card down on the internet. They all feel different. Try before you buy.
