Anyone see Ivan Carter kill that charging elephant and the lion at rock throwing distances, on TV?
The hunter made a low shot on the lion and they had to route him out......pretty cool stuff!
There was also great footage of an unprovoked charge by a Cape Buffalo......those things are FAST!
Sure looked like an adrenalin overload to me? And a good lesson in where a double rifle comes in real handy!

Read Elgin Gates recount of a buffalo charge for excitement. The buf charged from 40 yds. out and Elgin hit him 4 times with a .458 Win. The last shot was at something like 10 ft. I don't think I could work a bolt that fast even with LOTS of adrenalin let alone hit all of them in the head/face.

On the Sportsman Channel! The one sponsored by Hornady! It is the one with Craig Boddington and Ivan Carter. Should be on all week! Not "Tracks Across Africa".

I saw it! Quite imrpessive. Good shooting by Ivan. Would be hard to claim that lion as your own though. Lee

Wasn't that impressive?!!! I couldn't believe the buff...I don't know a thing about dangerous game hunting, but was thinking "what a trip that would be!"..if only I had the cash .. FMP

Ya want a gutsy guy........ol John Buhmiller. Went to Africa, hired a couple of trackers, and went hunting. Always liked him......

I was fortunate enough to go after dangerous game this year and hunting the Buffalo in the thick Jess at 5-10 yds and unable to see them very well is crazy stuff! I killed mine at about 40 yds when the entire herd ran by us as close as 5 yds. It was nuts. Didn't get an Ele or Lion though but the hunt was amazing. Lee
