I'm a big fan of the original Remington Ti in 7-08.
The closest one is my go to rifle that is actually an 7-08AI.
I've got 3 future sheep hunters in the house so I buy them when I can.....

Here's the wife's 7-08. Stiller Tac-30, Brux #3 10 twist@ 23", Stiller 1pc 0MOA rail, Timney trigger, graphite black cerakote by Eddie F. Jim Borden screwed it all together and Tim_in_TN pillar bedded it in the Rem. CDL B&C stock. It dotes on 45grn Varget and 120NBT. Since this photo was taken TPS HRT aluminum low rings and a Meopta Meopro 3-9x42 has been added.

Group would look even better if we could eliminate Mr. Murphy and "driver error" grin
Wife took her first deer with it this year.

Many years ago, I thought the Brown Precision Mountain Rifle had to be the perfect deer rifle. It was a modified M600 Rem that had a M700 bolt handle installed along with the Brown fiberglas stock. A few other mods were made to reduce weight like turning the factory bbl down to pencil like thickness. The 7mmX08 had been recently legitimized by Remington and I thought the Brown concept in that caliber would be perfect.

My shadetree gunsmith and I commenced to building one of these on the cheap. The M700 bolt handle was installed along with a Brown Precision stock I bought. Then he chambered and installed a Douglas XX air gauged bbl in 7mmX08.

The rifle turned out every bit as I expected it would. Light, sturdy, accurate, and in a caliber that few others at the time had. Cost me quite a bit, but it had scratched my itch very well.

About six months after I had gone to all of the expense and bother to build this little jewel, Remington introduced the M7 in several calibers which included the 7mmX08. The only real difference in my rifle and the M7 was the M600 roll mark on the side of it's action. My rifle cost me about 50% more to build than what I could have bought a M7 for.

Timing is everything......

Later on I'll tell you about finding an old M1895 straight gripped Marlin and bobbing the bbl back to 18" to use as a short, portable 45-70 thumper. About six months after finishing it, Marlin introduced the Guide gun. As I said, timing is everything......

If the rifle is out of the safe a photo of a smiling kid is usually not far behind.

I showed this on another thread but thought I'd add to this one also. GAP put it together, stainless surgeon action, Rock #3 barrel at 23 inches. Banser stock self painted.
