Well then Kel Tec should advertise, "weapon made for knuckle draggers."

Dot..,
Well, it's stories like your that cause me to shy away from 'affordable' handguns. You are not the only person who has related simular tales. A friend of mine had one go 'crunch' when it should have gone 'bang'.
I shall continue to stick with names like Colt,Smith,Kimber and Glock.

anybody either buy one of these yet, or have a chance to fire one? They're developing a carbine, folding stock, version, and looking into the possibility of a sixty round mag for it. Their new tactical shotgun looks awesome, too.

Those Kel Tech folks seem to have a knack for building really cool stuff that people want and will buy. While never magazine gun cover porn looks, always it seems with good quality, reliability and amazing price points. To have stuff like this coming out designed and MADE right here in the good 'ol USA is a good thing, methinks. I can see more Kel Tech stuff in my near future.

I suggest you try shooting a 5.7 FN. They shoot better than anything else I've tried in that weight range. And they hit alot harder than you'd think. I do understand that they are a touchy to reload round. I may give that a try one day. I'd like some 45 gr. SP ammo for mine. E I haven't priced it lately, but 22 mag used to be very pricey. And not being re-loadable. It's a cost that never lowers. At the ammount I shoot, it would be a deal breaker for me.

Discount stores and gun shows have it for under $10.00 per box. Even WW 40gr HP'S are less than that if you look and shop a little. The time of having to reload all that ammo is my deal breaker, but we all hve differing value's of time vs hard cash.

My place was 150 yards and it was the perfect round for those rodents trying to see their shadows. Your correct, time vs cost changes through out our lives. And incomes. Bill Gates can't stop to pick up a $100 bill. He'd be loosing money! I enjoy using my single stage press , puttering away , one round at a time in my basement.

A bud of mine has an AMT Automag II in .22 mag and it shoots/functions VERY well indeed. Accuracy is great, I was able to hit clay pigeons laying against my backstop at 150 yards with significant regularity. It never failed to function on me, but I din't put too many rounds through it. Trigger certainly could have been better, but it wasn't horrendous.
If Kel-Tec can sort out the issues, that could be one REALLY fun pistol.

I'd hazard to guess that I've owned and shot more Kel-Tec products than most on this site, and I've yet to find, fire, or have in my presence a "bad one".
Most that bring up the flaws are citing an "example of one", at best (assuming veracity).

And when a "bad one" is found, Kel-Tec's customer service is second to none.

Yep; which normally gives away the "well, it was a turd and they wouldn't even fix it..." crowd, FAST, to any with first-hand knowledge.
My first K-T .380 had a barrel that was not to my satisfaction (shot fine). Called them, explained the situation... the NEXT day, I had a UPS pick-up slip for that barrel AND a new barrel.
