... As soon as another Remington 1911 comes along I am going to CLOSELY examine the front sight - I am rather puzzled about the inference that the sights are falling off of them en masse??? ... Not sure of the en masse .... said they sold a few and a couple had the front sites fall off .... you draw your own statistical conclusions

I've looked a R1 over and liked what I saw. I have several 1911 pistols and intend to buy a R1 very soon.

I wonder if the sights were drifted to far and that's why they fell off. More likely the new owner neglected to check if the set screw was tight.

I believe they are $674 on the Bud's Guns site. Indeed they are made here in the USA according to Gunblast online magazine.

I believe they are $674 on the Bud's Guns site. Indeed they are made here in the USA according to Gunblast online magazine. Pretty much all of them on gunbroker are in the $575 to $589 range.... I would suspect that the buds price is msrp and if they actually sell it would be the $575 range

For the money here the Remington has got to be as good or better than anything else in this extremely reasonable price range, you wont touch a new kimber or Springfield for this price,however I am partial to the Sig and would pay the extra for the Sig if I were in the market for a 1911...............Hillbilly.
