John has once again shown what a real gunwriter is. In the latest Handloader he takes up that wonderful old warhorse the 300 Holland & Holland Magnum.
Unlike many of our site's self appointed experts, John has hard data on the 300 H&H and its competition. The old gal is equal to and even superior to some of the newcomers and will no doubt be soldiering on long after they join the ranks of the 32 Remington and 38-56.
He demolishes the many incorrect myths about the Thirty-Super and gives a nice review to the new Ruger #1 in 300 H&H.
Required reading for anyone with an interest in learning the truth about 30 caliber magnums as well as why belted cartridges were and are a really good idea, and when it comes to the cool factor there isn't a stainless/plastic rifle that will ever equal this:

This is just TFF!!!

While I believe that Mr. John Barsness is one of the finest gunwriters in the business, you Larry didn't always hold him in the esteem you do now.

Remember this gem you emailed me back on 5-23-10?

Email from Bookman1aol.com

What is sad is how less than 12 people can muzzle the freedom of 20K other members to express opinions and facts that run counter to THEIR wisdom. As with most blogs the people with the highest post counts spend most of their time congratulating each other on how funny/brilliant/ etc. THEY ARE. The never buy or sell anything and their actual experience consists of what they tell each other.
The fact that they ALWAYS [bleep] on respected books and gun magazines while holding up a has been like John Barns (I prefer that spelling as it reflects how full of [bleep] he is) who can only get an occassional piece in the Rifleman, got canned from Wolfe and has never written a book that has sold 1000 copies, is a perfect and clear indication of the "we're in charge" keyboard bully mentality.
BTW your [bleep] buddy who sent me the fake money is now in the Secret Service database. Tough behind a keyboard but REALLY stupid in real life! HOWLIN!!!
!

Note especially the bolded section.

Like I said, TFF!!

Or should I say HOWLIN!!!

Being disingenuous seems to come easily for you.

Also wondering, does owning a Monopoly game automatically qualify one for the Secret Service database?....

Well, regardless of the schizoid nature of the beast, I'd be interested in JB's take on why belts are a really good idea.

Once again Olddouche is embellishing the facts here.

JB said the belt was necessary on THIS cartridge due to the 8.5 degree shoulder. JB does not say anywhere in the article that belts are a "really good idea".

It really is a good article, as is to be expected from JB, but OldBossy's newfound admiration for him is just too hypocritical to let go unnoticed.

Have you seen my email from Elmer Keith that says Satan invented the 44 Magnum.
Be careful of who you believe and why!

So, does a PM from BossLady qualify me as special turd or am I still just an average turd? confused
