Looking at a 2009 model Savage model 10 in 22-250 at my local gun store. It has the heavy barrel, camo stock and the accutrigger. They've had it for a while and said they would take $540 out the door for it. Is this a good price? Trying to decide between the model 10 or the Thompson Center Venture Predator. Thanks

Just paid $680 for a Model 12 FCV 22-250, New. 26" Fluted Bull Barrel, Accustock and Accutrigger. Found one cheaper online at $600, had one shipped from a store in my state instead because they had it in stock and I like their customer service. It is a 9lb tack driver. Savage is a great value. I can't speak directly about a Model 10, but Savage=Accuracy for a great price. Model 10s get great reviews. MSRP on my rifle was around $900. Looked on Gunbroker and Model 10's are going for up to $700. Doesn't sound like a bad deal for that price if it is new. Savage has the MSRP at $889 on their website. I almost bought the Model 10 in the brush camo, but I wanted the Accustock. Savage will be seeing more of my money. Hope this helps. Good luck.

That gun is $700 at Bud's. It's a great price for a great gun. At that price it's a no brainer.

I had a 10fp in .223 for a few years. Mine was very accurate and a great gun. With the 69 gr match bullets it was extremely accurate.

The gun was purchased for varmint hunting though and not shooting match bullets. When I tried lighter bullets groups opened up. So I sold it and bought a .22-250, never was a fan of the .223.

Check the classifieds and do a browse for guns. One there, new, may not be exactly what you want but for 400$........

I saw a Savage M10 in 243 with synthetic stock and a-trigger
for 349 a couple of days ago and went home and thought about
it. It was gone the next time I went back, it was a standard
barrel, not a varmint.
