I have one of the SS 624 RB 3" barrel 44 Special, Made for Lew Horton around 500 made if I recall.

Bought the Galco belt holster & the shoulder holster at same time. That would go with it.

Not a safe queen shot it around 6 boxes. Have box. Was a recall checked & my serial number is ok according to the sources I could find. What is aprox. value never shoot it anymore so why keep it. Seen prices all over the place on GB.


Both Holsters were made for the limited edition model at that time. Mine is RH copied pic.

One way to find out, is to list it and see what offers you get. Keep in mind the definition of market price is the one agreed to between a willing seller and a willing buyer. Until they agree, its just a lot of numbers.

I'd say $600 is a solid, middle of the road price. You might get more, but I think that's the least I'd expect to get.

I don't know what it's worth or your time line for selling, but I would consider listing it on the Smith & Wesson forum. S&Ws seem to go for higher amounts there than other places. Here are some examples of listings for the blued version of that gun.

I sold a duplicate I had in my collection with box & all, for $800 two years ago. Prices seem to be a bit depressed these days, but I wouldn't let it go any cheaper than $700.

The one you have is the 1985-7 version of which 5K were made. I was a dealer at the time and had one of the blue and one of the stainless guns. A friend of mine still owns the stainless one.

Selling prices are usually in the $650-850.00 range...they were the first of the Combat Special guns from S&W.... One nice thing about the 624 vs. all the others was the slim barrel...it made the balance much better than on the Magnums...
