Confession! Wifey picked up the 10 piece special on Mon eve before the big storm. I know, I know. We are sorry. Tonight, we had the three pieces that were leftover in Fish Chowder.
3 pieces of cut up fish, breading removed 2 diced potatoes, boiled in chicken broth (trinity) onion, carrots, celery 4 slices bacon chopped 1 can condensed milk whole milk as needed flour/water mix for thickening Old Bay, salt, pepper
While boiling the potatoes, fry bacon with trinity in a cast oven. When the bacon and veggies are done, add potatoes and some broth. Pour in the desired amount of milk and add thickening. Season to taste. Combine in the fish and serve when hot.
We usually use some clam juice, but are out.

That sounds really good, and I have some white fish leftover from lunch today, hmmmmmmmmm. Tomorrow's lunch, solved I like soup or chowders made from leftovers. I had steamed chicken and broccoli with white rice the other night from the Chinese place. I only ever eat about half, the next night I made chicken and rice soup. I cut the chicken pieces up along with the broccoli, added it to chicken broth I had heated up with some finely diced onion, a bay leaf, some black pepper, and a squeeze of lemon juice. When it all came to a boil, I added the leftover white rice, and voila ! A very nice homemade soup for next to nothing. Had it with a green salad, and some crusty Italian bread. Made me happy

I am not a big fan of Long John's but my 4 year old loves eating there; I will eat it. The chowder sounds good. Old Bay is great.

I go to Long John's about once a month for lunch, when I feel I need my oil changed.

Cheesy
My wife uses the same comment, "oil changed", about LJS and our local Nu-Grill Burgers with Susie Q's. Life is good.
The 10pc fish, for $10, gives us two meals for three adults.
LJS fish and chicken combo? Which is which?

Some years back while traveling with my father, we stopped in some truck stop-type diner along I-5. Dad had chicken and chips. Said it was the best fish and chips he ever had. I was confused. "Did they give you fish by mistake?" "No," he replied, "they just haven't changed the oil in awhile and it tasted just like fish." Ugh.

Down heah in the deep south we substitute the carrots with green bell peppers for what we call the "trinity". That's just FYI if anybody cares. GO PACKERS

I stand corrected. I sometimes get my "Trinity" (green peppers, down south) and my "Mirepoix" (carrots, up north) mixed up. Thanks.
And I sometimes use both. Life is good.
