I worked up a load for 200 grain partitions in my 06 with 57.5 grains RL-22. It was quite accurate and if memory serves it chrono'ed around 2675 fps, that was out of a 22" barrel. I always thought that would be an outstanding elk load.

I'm thinking about trying 57 gr. of RL-22 in my 06 with 220 gr nosler partitions just because I got a hell of a good deal on some at a gunshow a few months ago. The nosler manual says I should get about 2600 fps. That should knock the hell out of an elk grin

I go shooting with a couple of retired gents, semi-wealthy, and rifle looneys. Their current obsession is hotrodding the CRAP out of long barrelled 30-06's with RL-22.

My skepticism of the velocities led me to demand they shoot their rifles through my Oehler (they run CED M2's). Let's just say I tend to stand waaay back when they shoot their "magical" RL-22 loads.

After a while I did get them to admit two things; case life was very short, and temperatures affected their velocity and ES quite a bit........

Not being married to any particular political party sure makes it a lot easier to look at the world more objectively...
Having said that, MAGA.
