I'd rate it at about NRA Excellent and raise the price... You obviously don't know how to price a gun. Start at a thousand "firm" and drop the price $5 per week.... It'll sell before it gets to $800 guaranteed.
A grand old lever gun like that one just gets better with age and it's obviously been babied.

I can't afford it. Payment Plan? Marlin did a wonderful job in the 70's to make a centenial look like a hundred year old rifle. Quality like that is hard to find now days. Think the Lever Revolutions will shoot good in it?

amazing what you can dig up with a metal detector. I'll bet this was some one's rifle that put it in the antlers of a nice buck to take a picture when the dang thing got up and ran off.

free bump ..... i went some years ago to buy an old winchester 94 off of a guy. i bought it then he says want to see a nice gun, sure. he goes and gets an old hard case and opens it. it's a very nice german drilling. he picks it out to show me and the bottom side looked close to your marlin. it was a velvet lined case and he hadn't had the gun out in years. i felt sick and he looked worse. i think i'll go with the deer story on yours. no offense but not sure if you can even make a lamp out of that one. good luck on your sale. just add a good provenance story and you'll be ok.
