Just heard a report on a Fox radio affiliate - he's done.

I'm trying to find confirmation - as of yet, nothing.

This is going to be just like Iran and Jimmy Carter. Obama undermines the leader and opens the way for a much greater evil to take power.

I have no idea if Obama has/had any influance.

I do know the crowds gathering today were reportedly making their way toward the Presidential Palace. Might be ol' Hosni decided his fortunes were enough, and keeping his head sounded good.

As to the power-void, and what fills it?

Nothing much positive from what I can tell.

FOX, ABC, CNN, all reporting - Hosni's a goner.

Off to the Grand Caymans he goes...

Just checked FOX news, and it says Mubarak is stepping down, whether or not he has signed any papers to that affect, I don't know. Mubarak is now at the Resort at the southern tip of the Saini, Sharm El Sheihk.

Now the fun starts.. I bet we see 5.00/gal gas by March..

I feel there is a huge difference here, from what Carter let happen in Iran. Carter was just inept.
Hussein, our first muslim president, WANTS a radical muslim take over in Egypt, and has done everything he could to engineer that outcome.

Just heard their VP (can't remember his name) deliver the message.

And Obama did it even without passing Cap and Trade or using the EPA to get the same results.

You can bet the Egyptian generals learned from Iran .They are not going to hand over power to a bunch of "preachers" - they don't NEED them .I think it is likely that the military has scripted every move Mubarack has made since this deal started .I'm betting they wrote the script for his speech last nite.That was designed to push things a little closer to the brink , before stepping in as saviours .

They are in a much better position now to put down the "revolution" than if Mubarak had appeared to go down easily .That would only have emboldened the demonstrators to demand more .

The generals are not giving up that U.S. aid anymore than our Pentagon Generals are going to embrace reduced military spending .

He should have plenty of cash. Hell, we gave it to him.

Where is he heading to? I see someone said Grand Caymans. I thought it may be Germany or London.
