I don't care for the terms Remmies, Winnies, shotties, or the Roberts a "Bob." It's Urban gunspeak and a just a little too precious, langauge-wise.

If Winchesters are Winnies and Remingtons are Remmies, why doesn't anybody on the Campfire call their Kimber a Kimmie? Some folks here call their Weatherbys 'Roys', maybe they should be 'Webbies'? And, the Mk V's mostly all shoot 'Maggies', I guess...

I still CQTM* when I think of Stick calling a Mannlicher a "dude taster".

No doubt they would want one in 300 Winnie mag! When I worked in a gun shop during college it seemed like everyone called em 300 winnies. bingo... for 40 years and then some, the .300 winchester has been the winnie to a good share of the shooting public... it has nothing to do with rifle brand or manufacture... my winnie was made by remington....

AlabamaEd: "FENCE POST", you're the ONLY other person I've heard or read to use that title in reference to a rifle.
I had a "Green Fence Post" for a short while, but it wasn't a kimmie. Short While; it didn't stay long either.
A fence post is just one step up from a TOMATO STAKE! !

There are a bunch of guys here in Montana who think the Winnie Maggie is the greatest cartridge in the world.
Winnie Maggie sounds to me like a homesteader from 1875, but then again she could have been a madam, with a bunch of Kimmies in her employ....
