I only own 1 Tikka t3 but its a SS .243 and even though I have many custom builds in the safe, the .243 goes hunting with me more than the rest combined. Love it. Accurate, light, and dumps deer in their track with 85 grain tsx's.

Post a WTB for one of the 700 Mountain Guides. I wish I'd've picked up a .243 when I got my 7-08.

I agree with the 85 Gr. TSX. No brainer!
Rifle.....Hmmmmmm...I'd go with a Kimber (you already knew that) or a 700 Ti...if you can find one.....or a 700 Mtn rifle. You could always do a faux ti. Whatever it is, I'd require at least a 22" barrel.
Tikka's great....but it's a long action....right?

Agreed if Dave is thinking about building a ltwt .243 from a bare action with a barrel from a maker other than Remington. I learned a lesson and you may get out cheaper letting NULA build you one and a NULA definitely would hold value better.

Dave-by 6.5 lb you mean naked or "all up" (scope, rings, rounds sling)?

Dave, I know you've had a few Kimber Montana's, so what's steered you away from them?

A Nula would be nice, but you can put together some pretty interesting stuff and come in well under the 3k price tag.
