Very high quality. Great case support on everything but the 3" barrel model. Many parts not interchangeable with other 1911s. Made in Canada.

I believe they are cast instead of forged.

I've gotten talked out of two of the older 14-45s, and wish I still had one. I never had one problem with either, but also, I didn't shoot thousands of rounds through one.
I saw a movie where only the military and the police had guns. It was called Schindler's List.

I've got a Colonel that has run good except for one mag likes to bobble a little bit, but take the mag out of the picture and it eats ammo up.

I bought a new P-10 back in the late 1990s. It would not feed hardball. Kept jamming. Sent her down the road, and picked up an 80s Colt Officer's .45.

I had a P16 .40 cal that was one heck of a good gun. Ran it hard for a short time in IPSC, before going back to the .45.
I have a friend who is a GrandMaster IPSC shooter and he has two P14s that I bet each ran through 20K to 25K rounds a year, for a number of years that he was hot on the circuit.

Joes - I bought two LDA 45s with sequential serial numbers. Neither ever worked reliably after trips to PO. Sold them to a local dealer, after telling him of my experience. He sold one to a collector who will, probably, never know about reliability.
Jim, a friend, bought one. Said he liked it OK but was little disappointed with the reliabliity.
This is just after PO came out with the LDA. Maybe they're better now.

I have an LDA 7-45. Never had a problem with it, fed it LRN, FMJ, XTP's and GDHP's, runs fine. Pretty sure that the frame is cast.

They make a solid 1911 and I have one in storage! Nothing wrong with that brand at all, you just don't get all the bells and whistles you get with the Kimber but it is simply cheaper.
