Campfire has seen epic debates over WHAT kind of canoe (or no canoe) is best for what.
All I wanna know is, what color? Leaning green. Blue tape optional come fall.
Golldammed motion detector lights. A guy can’t even piss off his porch in peace any more.

NAH! Camo...get it in camo like real men do. My duck hunting buddies and I when we were very young got a tin boat and painted it camo. We took it out the duck opener to Sheckler Reservoir and got out on a small island, turned it over and pulled it onto the island under some tamarisks, then we went wading to other islands, using them to hide and ambush. We limited out, then went looking for the boat. The short version is the boat...later located...was forever known as What-Boat? Camo...get it in camo

Got a green Coleman one. I didn't get to chose color - was for sale for 75 bucks with a shovel and 3 life jackets. No clue on the shovel but for 75 bones - I don't mind.

good grief, buy whatever color floats your boat (and suffer the pun).
Are you going to next ask what color for your kitchen?

I can't bring myself to own a canoe other than traditional green unless it was used for waterfowl hunting a lot.

I currently have a green, a yellow (sweet little one man, in bright yellow!), a red, and a silver aluminum in canoes, along with two red and a turquoise in kayaks. Color matters little to me if it's a boat I like!

Old Town Green and Old Town camo. My favorite canoe is the Old Town PACK at 12', 33 lbs and rated capacity of 550-600 pounds. http://www.oldtowncanoe.com/canoes/generalFamily/pack.html

I have no favorite canoe color (though the only one I've ever owned is Commie red) but many years ago I knew an outdoor writer who had his canoe painted camo on one side and red on the other. That way he could take photos for different articles on the same trip, especially in the fall, when he might duck-hunt and fish on the same day.
He also had a miniature fly rod made, complete with reel, that made a 14-inch trout look like a 3-4 pounder when you laid the rod on the grass next to the fish. Of course, that was back when people actually killed trout.

JB, that is friggin' nuts! I knew Ingwe had a minature rifle made for bear pics but the mini flyrod is news to me.
