Anybody have one? What is the general consensus on the X-Bolts? Likes? Dislikes? What kind of accuracy are you getting? Any problems with them?

And what do y'all think of the BOSS? Does it have any effect on recoil?

I never had an A-Bolt, and now the X-Bolts are out. I've never had anything like a BOSS, either. Browning is chambering some interesting calibers, and I might want one...might. I would like some feedback from the fire, first.

I had a 7mmRM A-Bolt with a boss. It was very very loud. I traded it for a pre-ban Colt Target Sporter that I used for military High Power matches.

I own them and the ones I've shot have been good rifles. MOA or better with factory fodder.

I didn't think Browning was making the X-Bolt with the BOSS system, I may be wrong.

I like the stock and the magazine system on the X-Bolt. I don't think the 4 scope base screws are anything but a marketing ploy

The triggers are good and an a definite improvement over the A-Bolt trigger. You get a lighter ernie the gunsmith spring and stick in them if you want to get below 3 lbs.

The bolt unlock button adds a degree of safety missing fron the A-bolt, but I never thought that was a problem.

As far as the BOSS system, it is loud, just like any muzzle break. You can get the BOSS CR, which is the barrel tuning system minus the break and not deal with the added noise. If you take the time to work with it, you can shoot bughole groups, but it usually takes 40 or so shots of dialing in, but it will shrink your groups.

Hope this helps.

I have an X bolt in a Walnut/Stainless version,chambered in 270 WSM.

It shoots 140 grain accubonds from Federal into less than an inch.

I like mine.

I like mine better than my Sako 85. My X-Bolts are the best shooting skinny barreled guns I've ever owned.

..I concur with most of JohnMoses comments. The New X-Bolt is a new generation, modern if not contemporary version of the A-Bolt. Just purchased a .243 last month and was very impressed with the improved Stock (Soft Touch is very nice), detachable mag, safety, trigger and scope mounting system. It is a sleek unit that has great balance and feel -

Got an X-Bolt Hunter in 270 Winchester and concur with what the others have said. The rifle is very accurate and is not picky about the ammo it likes either.

I have several Browning X-bolt rifles and have never owned any Browning rifle (X-Bolt or A-bolt) that didn't shoot very good, these rifles are the reason I don't fool around with Sako rifles anymore, I have owned more than a few Sako's also and have found Brownings on average to be more accurate even though Sako claims a 5 shot MOA group, I have had several that would not live up to this claim "guarantee" on the range. I do love Sako rifles though they have superb fit and finish, in the end I couldn't live with their clamp on scope mounting system so now I play with Browning, Remington and Ruger rifle's, I think Ruger probably has the best scope mounting system of the bunch........Good luck with your X-Bolt if it's as accurate as the ones I have you will love it..............Hillbilly.
