I'm setting here in Milwaukee watching the rain come down and the snow melt. Bummer time of the year. Anyhow, I'll be off April 16-20 and wonder if a spring hog hunt is possible. I haven't yet checked any regs, and to be honest I don't know the first thing about the sport, but I'm sure I'm about to get educated. I'd be looking for a hunt within 10 hours of Milwaukee-probably a line from Branson, MO over to Mammouth Cave KY. Is it possible to hunt pigs that far north, or do I have to look a little further down the road? Doing this trip on a budget, so public hunting a must with camping nearby. No one has to give me their sectret spots, just point me in the right direction. Thanks, Doug

The Gulf Coast States are your best bet, Texas and Florida are covered up with the beast that you seek. The populations are exploding in Georgia and Alabama. Search the web and you will find many hunt clubs that offer hog hunts for a reasonable price, public land hunting for swine is restricted to deer season here in Florida, but on private land feral pigs are considered trespassing livestock and the season is always open. I'll be headed out this week to add a little pork to the freezer with some friends. The only limits imposed are "Don't Kill More Than You Are Willing To Clean".
