"Dreamed up", literally, a new terminal knot for leader/tippet to fly. Easy to tie, high strength, and minimal bulk. Been looking for such an animal for 50 years. It's on Youtube, just type in "Buzz's Knot" and try it out. Use it an share it, just give me credit for it.

Hate to say this but that knot has been around for long time. It was and still is used by So Cal saltwater fisherman. I first saw it tied back in the 80's.

Similar though not the same as the San Diego Jam knot you are probably referring to. It wraps down towards the eye some 6-7 times and then locks at the top. Mine locks at the top first and wraps down 3 times and locks again at the eye. The Grinner knot and others are variations on the jam knot theme. I did a web search and could not find a duplicate. The Brits made the same comment about the Grinner knot, but it is different. Another knot for your arsenal.

Experienced some apparent slippage when moving the knot up and down as in the hinging affect in casting with a downturned eye hook. After the 3rd wrap, run the tag end thru the loop at the eye away rather than towards you. It is not any harder to tie and may even be a bit cleaner. You guys are my staff for testing and of course critique. Give me some feedback, I'm just a guy trying to have his name on something other than a rent check.
