Looking at the Control website it looks like you have the "DapTar" bases. I need something like this. I have Talley's on my Sako 85 right now and I can't quite get the eye relief right due to the scope being as far back as the Talley combination will allow it.

I am running 2 sets of Conetrols. Have had several sets. They are rock solid and sleak. I've never had an issue with them other than it takes alittle fiddling to mount them, but once you are set.... worry no more. There is no reason to shy away from them just because they take alittle extra time to install. They run about a size smaller than other companies. ie...Conetrol's MED is like other Companies' LOW. I weighed my set with the low rings and they came out to 4 oz. I'll gladly take the meager extra 2 oz over those Talley LW mounts.... The Gentry's are nice too and so are the S&K mounts, but I have no experience with them. The best way to get Conetrols is to watch Ebay everyday and you can get what would be an expensive set for cheap if you part it together. The Custum rings screw onto the scope and are a tad easier to mount IMO than the Huntur rings. Good Luck!

This is a pic of Conetrol High's with a 40 mm bell.

I have one further thought brought on by 358Thumper's post. Conetrol systems are indeed lower than probably everyone else's and a careful reading of their website makes that point. So it is important to take that into account instead of just ordering the height that you normally do. By digging into their website, you can find the data you need on heights of bases and rings. I compared that against what was on the rifle and was able to order rings that put me just where I wanted to be.

Hope this is helpful.

They are indeed lower than just about everything else. Because of this fact, I just let George tell me which height was appropriate based on the rifle and scope being used.

S&K are lighter and easy to work with, for the same basic look.

I agree; the S&K are just as sleek looking and are lighter. They are also simpler, easier to install, and less expensive. I have 4 sets of S&Ks, and they have worked well with one exception. I had a set of rings and bases about 10 years ago that wouldn't hold the scope securely; it would allow the scope to gradually slide forward after repeated recoil. I tried tightening the cone screws in the bases to clamp the rings harder, but ended up stripping the threads in the bases.

If someone is interested in the gloss blued finish, their polished rings aren't as nicely finished as Conetrol.

This is the reason I selected the Conetrols over the S&K. I wanted to put them on a classic rifle with a fine finish. Perhaps I'll try some S&K's on something else.
