So I have a new company managing my health insurance. It's all being automated now. So they needed copies of Birth and Marriage Certificates to verify my dependents. No worries.

So I'm talking to the guy on the phone about faxing these documents. He actually says to me, and I quote, "Don't FAX the originals, because we can't send them back."

Jeeeeeezzzzzusssss. I didn't know what to say. These people are now in charge of my medical insurance. With ongoing care issues, I'm scared.

And before anyone says it, this has nothing to do with California. This company is in Michigan.

Hell, at least you spoke to an American...

I just can't find it in me to be surprised at this. Is it Priority Health, by any chance?

Yeah, guess I should be glad I wasn't talking to India.

And it's called Benesyst. Before I even got to talk to the intellectual powerhouse, they had already mailed my packet to the wrong address, then "misplaced" the first set of FAX's.

This just CAN'T end well.

I've never heard of needing that kind of verification for health insurance. You put it on the app and if it's fraudulent, it will come back to haunt you.
