I've got a Springfield right now and have probably owned a half dozen or close to it, over the years. They are fine. You should check out Remington's new 1911 though, if you're going milspec. They're made here.

huh, good to know. Thanks.

Just picked it up Saturday. Dan Wesson Guardian 45ACP, an alloy bob-framed commander. Pardon the old .260 holes of ex-gf; using up old targets, but you get the idea.

Next gun, probably the canoe keep thinking on. Or a full gov't 1911 for practice/house.

I need a rifle in 257 Roberts. Been looking for an AIII Sako. Could also use a color-cased lever action of some sort in .45LC to go along with my new AWA Mod 73 Peace Maker. If the right .308 winny comes along I may get one of those as well, probably a Steyr. I really do feel flush with just about everything I want. May even sell a few to make room in the safe.

Haven't run across any lately that I have to have. I have been toying with the idea of getting another Shiloh 1874 Sharps probably in 45-90 if it goes that far. I have 3 45-70s (only one is a Sharps) and just have the itch to go a bit bigger.

I have been buying and selling the last couple years and am pretty set for now. I forsee the next gun as either being a Cricket type for my little girl or a lightweight 223 or something along those lines for the kids. That is gonna be a while either way. Oldest turns 5 this summer and has not shown much intrest in what dad does. currently doing a little tweaking on other guns. Should get my McSwirly for my 338 in the next couple weeks, bed that in and do a trigger job and that will be done. Also have the wood stock removed from my 7RM that needs to be re-finished. I would replace the stock, but I already had it full length bedded and pillars installed, and I just like it.

It actually just happened (not ny design), as I stumbled onto a lightly used Tanfoglio (EAA) Witness Match, in .38 Super. I ran a couple-hundred rounds through it over the weekend, and I have to tell you, it's a sweetheart.

Dies, and bullets are on order, as is some Starline brass. To be honest, It's going to be a chore besting what the pistol did with Remington, PMC, and Mag Tech factory 130 grain loads. Once I got dialed in, one-inch groups (supported) at 25 yards were boringly routine, and I broke clay pigeons that were propped into the berms all the way back to 50 yards.

'Tis a shooter this one.

Nothing on the radar now 'cept a varmint-caliber barrel
for the Encore.

Still got that 9.3x74 double rifle in the
back of my mind, but having a hard time convincing
myself to expend that much funds on "one" rifle sick

Because they're fun, and they shoot extremely well. I bought a 455 in November, and with the HMR pipe on it, it shoots very, VERY well...................
