Fun first day here! We got to the condo (inlaws) about 11pm Eastern time. We hit the rack and woke up ready to go. First stop was Sea World. It was a blast. I haven't been there for about 10 years and the kids haven't been there ever.

It's pretty hot for a fat MN boy. It was about 80 today. We came back and hit the pool til now. I'm wore out for the day.

Have fun kids.

ps....Ryan, you'll get something. I applied for no less than 100 jobs between the time I moved until the time I got one. It sucks and I really had to WORK just to get a job. Stick with it. Call them back in a couple weeks and let them know you're still looking. Could turn out the cat they hired never showed up for work.

Ah, crusty old Dave is back from a Doc visit with promising (good news)

Been down and out for a while now, really worried about... stuff.

Thinking it was possible I could have had some bad stuff wrong.

Been in a lot of pain for over a month now. I was forced by "burns my breakfast" to go in. She went with me to make sure I did actually go, and to make sure I didn't just go in and say "ya know, I feel better, never mind" and leave.

It's like she knows me or something grin

Anyways, some muscle damage. Self inflicted, turns out I'm not as young and "one man show" as I used to be.

Without getting into too much detail.. It's just pain, the kind that will heal with some therapy. I can certainly deal with that.

Missy, Pam and I have worked jobs like that, more so me with the night shift stuff.

Have you got like a 3 till midnight or midnight till morning?

Dave, good to hear that you should be on the mend with a some PT help. If you think of it, ask the therapist if elctroshock therapy would help. Worked for me.

If you think you have aches and pain now, wait till you get to be my age. frown

Suppossed to be in the 50's here the next few days.

I never did adjust to working nights. Fall and winter wasn't so bad for sleeping but summer was the pits.

If I had to pick between a "2nd shift" and a "3rd shift" I'd pick 3rd (midnight till morning).

The vampire shift.

My opinion is that the 3 to midnight type shift really takes too much away from you.

That said, I've done it before, plenty of it.

Bill, aint nobody hooking me up t a freeking extension cord and plugging me in, no thanks lol!!

Unless I get taser'd in which case I'd probably have it coming.

My shift is the 11 pm to 7 am. Wouldn't be so bad if it was Sunday through Thursday, but it is Monday through Friday. I won't be off work till 7 Saturday mornings.

But if they have shifts like that, there's opportunity for you to slide into days you know.

Watch for lead openings etc, you'll be running the place before you know it.

C'mon what could go wrong?

I worked the 6PM to 6AM for a couple of years. Black blinds or covering the windows with aluminum foil helps. Working 6 to 6 and having a statistics class from 8-noon makes statistics so much more interesting.

Well I'm headed for the big lake. Ice fishing, doing a overnight thing with a group from work.

Should be fun.

I have to agree about the 3 to 11 shift, but for a different reason. Never saw the wife and kids. Come to think of it that wasn't all bad. laugh

Don't need an extention cord Dave. I have a portable unit (Called a Tens) that works off of 2 AA batteries. The thing works great.

Well lastnight at work was better. Everyone was talking about the night before and they couldn't believe they put me on the fastest line in the plant on my first night. Lastnight was a little slower, we were working on the 12 inch licorice.
