Anyone shoot one of these? Nice light rifle .... might could be a better choice than my 22hornet (VHZ). How did yours shoot? I don't really like the magazine sticking out the bottem the way it does, but not a deal breaker either.
Thanks for you insight.

I don't really like the magazine sticking out the bottem the way it does, but not a deal breaker either They came out last year with a model that does not have the UGLY magazine. http://www.cz-usa.com/products/view/cz-527-m1-american/No experience with one in .223, but I think you have to look pretty long and hard to find or hear about a CZ that won't shoot.

I just picked up a CZ 527 Varmint w/ walnut stock in .223. I liked the 1 in 9 twist the barrel had, most others were 1 in 12. I also like the set trigger, it allows the use of a standard pull or setting the trigger for a extremely light pull. Fit and finish are terrific, the factory rings are on the high side, they should clear a 50mm scope, definately a 44mm scope. My research indicated a very accurate rifle. I will shoot it as soon as I get my 50mm scope in and report to you regarding the result.

Careful with that set trigger, the one I got came from the factory set so that if I set the trigger while the gun was on safety, the gun would fire when I took the safety off, without touching the trigger.
Of course that was easily fixed by adjusting the trigger but it was very unsettling to say the least and something the tech at CZ USA said happens more often than you think..... something to check for before you load up.

I have had one for several years no complaints. It does not shoot well when very clean. It needs 15 rounds or so before it groups it best, groups do not start to open up until about 350 rounds. I have gone 500 rounds between cleanings without suffering a dramatic decrease in accuracy.
I agree with heavywalker regarding the trigger. GRF

Wish they made one with the 3 shot magazine AND 1 in 9 twist.

I've got one of the "Predator" models, 223 with a camo stock and metal finish, 3 round flush clip. The set trigger is the cat's meow, and the mfg even includes instructions on how to adjust it - how many times do you see that? Rifle shoots very well, no complaints here.

One of the most accurate factory rifles I have ever shot. I "had" a CZ Predator in .223 and with factory ammo I couldn't miss. It shot 1/4"-1/2" groups all day long. The set trigger is amazing too.
If I had one complaint it would be the action. It's not smooth to chamber a round, but it feeds and ejects great. I guess it's because of the "mini" Mauser action they designed. The magazine on the Predator is flush, but all others protrude out like a tactical rifle.
Otherwise a fantastic rifle.
