I bought a .338 RUM last summer and have been using factory Remington 250gr Swift A-Frames. Anyone have any loads they could suggest that they have had success with in the rifles. My rifle is a Remington 700 BDL.

Work up from 93gr. RL 25, 225gr. TSX & CCI 250's. I am .005 from kissing & a bit over that charge, work up slow & adjust seating depth as needed. Ron

I've only used RL25 and 225 gr TTSX's and 225 gr Accubonds. Mine definitely prefers the TTSX'S. I lost some brass early on by loading max (98 gr RL25) and close to max loads when the primer pockets went South and am now down to 93 gr RL25 for about 3100 fps. Probably due to having a short throated custom chamber. But I am perfectly happy with a 225 gr bullet at 3100 fps.
I thought the 225 gr AB's would shoot better but not so. The TTSX's are .050" off and the COAL is 3.580"

91 grains of RL22 under a 225 grain accubond, Rem brass (obvious), and Fed 215 primers.
I had problems with the recoil. It wasn't too bad on the shoulder, it was "big" recoil but relatively manageable. No, for me the issue was the friggin' Loopy 2.5-8X caught me in the forehead about 2 shots out of 10. During load workup, I was laying WAY back, almost "creedmore", just looking through the little hole in the big black circle trying to balance that over the crosshairs and the target at the same time. I got quite a few quarter inch 100 yard groups that way. I thought I'd be able to find a scope with more eye relief but it never happened and I consigned away the rifle. Y' just can't be proficient with a rifle that hits you in the head so hard it sends you to the chiropractor.

I've got a 700 BDL as well, and I shoot 225 grain Interlocks over 100 grains of Retumbo and Federal Large Rifle Magnum primers for 3150 fps.

Mine loved 250Gr TSX's over large quantities of RL25 or RETUMBO. The faster I pushed them, the better the accuracy was.

I've got a stash of molly'd 230 Failsafes that shoot under 1/2" with IMR7828, that has griz/brown bear written all over them.
I am thinking about making the load "proprietary".....
