Was listening to the radio earlier and they mentioned that buried within the health care bill there was a regulation requiring all gun owners to disclose the number of firarms stored at their home. It also requires that you tell them what calibers and amount of ammo for each. Can anyone tell me if this is true or not and how does this relate to healthcare?

If it was true, it sure would be a shame for me to lose them all in a boating accident. wink

Wow, you missed it by that much, my boat just capsized, I was lucky to get away with just the clothes I had on, lost the boat and everything in it. grin You would think I should have learned the first 3 times my boat sank with all of my firearms in it. wink

I don't believe it has anything to do with the health care bill. More likely it is the Socialist leaning AMA, but the last time I was in the Dr's office, the patient history form asked if I wore my seat belt and asked if I had guns in my house.

I wrote "None of your business" in the space provided. And as Momma was also seeing the Dr. that day I then wrote the same thing in the space on her form.

The last time I was into the ER was far a broken leg after falling off an ATV in the hills. The stupidest question that day was "Do you feel safe in your home?"

The ER nurse gave me a funny look when I answered. "Sure, well except for that whole black helicopter thing."

I was once asked if there were firearms in the home. I replied, "I refuse to confirm or deny".

El Paso is right at the line but ya should be ok. This deal about healthcare providers asking about guns has come up before and it does seem that it's the folks further west that get asked.

There is a movement among the medical field to ask about guns so they can advise patients with depression to remove them from their house so they won't be able to use them to commit suicide.

they belong to my ex wife...

she hasn't ever picked them up yet.

ObamaCare actually contains a provision that makes it illegal for a doctor to ask his patient about firearms.
