Just got a couple boxes of 250gr TTSX for my 375 Ruger

I use Redding dies

I've previously loaded 260gr Nosler Accubonds with no problems. I have the die set for NO CRIMP, 1 turn backed off a trimmed/chamfered case. Try seating a TTSX and all is fine until the case mouth runs over the first (bottom) relief groove on the TTSX. Press handle gives resistance, and we all know what a bit of force does...........squashed shoulder

Manage to get two to seat fully by sloooooooowly lowering press arm, squashed two doing the same thing.....

too much neck tension? bullet problem?? I've never had any issues with seating TTSX before in other cartridges

thanks in advance for any tips or thoughts

Are you using a VLD chamfering tool ? Are the case necks dipped in motor mica (eases seating)

I have loaded every X, TSX and TTSX made in my 375 H&H w/o issues.

Worst case, buy a neck expanding die (usually used for lead bullets) to open them up a bit more and set your seating die for a slight crimp.

This one should work, but I'd call RCBS or Lyman as they both make them for us cast bullet shooters.

I measured the bullets and they're right. Inside of necks around .370".........

I use a regular RCBS chamfer tool, necks were dipped in Imperial dry neck lube in application media before sizing...maybe I should try doing it before seating too.

thanks for the reply

I tried the dry neck lube, sure helped. Also got a bit more aggressive on the chamfer

made 4 dummy's in a row with no squashed shoulders. Still some resistance on the first groove, but not like before.

Glad it's better. I think a VLD chamfer tool will fix it for good.

If you had a "real" 375, it never wuda happened. (Kidding!)

Since you have your answer, may I switch subject? What is the water weight when filled to the mouth of the case?

The case capacity of the .375 Ruger is 99.0 gr. of water (6.43 cm3) while the .375 H&H Magnum has a case capacity of 95.3 gr. of water (6.19 cm3).
