I'm day dreaming a little today because it's my birthday, and I'm just wondering whose got a bubba-ized 99 in a non-factory caliber? Do you shoot it? at what? how's it work? do you like it?

Do future plans count? I have an old rusty 99R originally in 300 Savage that is going to be a very nice custom in 444 Marlin someday. If it's in the cards it might be a switch barrel takedown with 444 Marlin & 410 bore (2 1/2 inch) shotgun barrels, both feeding from the same magazine rotor! We'll cross that bridge when we come to it! Right now it is just one of several "project" guns. My plans are to shoot it a lot and I'm pretty sure I'll like it.
What caliber(s) are you dreaming about?

I had them in 219 Zipper, 30-284, and 35-284.

I still have them in 220 Swift, 257 AI, 25-284, 260, 6.5-284, and 338-284.

If you want a 99 in a non-standard cartridge that isn't based on either the 250-3000 or 243/308 case, you want to start with a 99C or 99CD. The detachable magazine is a lot easier to work with. Of mine, only the 220 Swift, 99R, and 260, 99F, are rotory magazine rifles.

Pretty Impressive....I've only ever seen a couple 219 Zippers and one 260..

I have around 300 Savage 1899s and 99s, so there were bound to be some mutts among the factory specs rifles.
