We are having some beautiful weekend weather so I made a trip to the seafood shop and fired up the BGE. Bacon wrapped filet, gulf shrimp, sea scallops, asparagus and a tomato/avocado salad. Life is good!! Mike

You're giving me good ideas Mike! How long did the ass-per-gas take? Temp was good here yesterday....73 but the wind matched it. No fun to grill in.

Thanks guys. The asparagus took 6-7 minutes at around 400* but I kept a close watch and turned it often. I wrapped it in thin sliced pancetta this time which IMO worked better than bacon. Mike P.S. You're not far Woody, you should be able to hunt me down.

SUGV1,
I have used Fire King hard wood lump from Missouri since I have owned the BGE and I love it. Bad news came the other day when I found out they have been bought out and the new company is using a different blend. I'll be searching for a new brand right away.

THanks I have been wanting to try and make my own. I heat with wood, so I have a good supply of oak and hickory. I need to get my hands on a 30gal barrel to get started.
I use just the standard lump coal that Lowes sells in my Primo. It is ok, but I think it is made from crappy scraps from who knows where. Like I said, I wanna make my own.
I will give the Fire King a try if I can find it in AL. If not, I will try it in Mo when I get to Leonard Wood.
