Hunting around for a rifle the does no destroy the meat at 100-200 yards. I hear guys talk about the .375 H&H, .375 Ruger and the 45-70. What round have you guys had luck with?
Thanks Placement trumps everything else.

Thanks Placement trumps everything else. True, as asked the question is impossible to answer with absolute certainty. Bullets do wierd things. BCR

Take a standard deer rifle and load up your favorite bullet at about 2500 fps. It will kill cleanly out to your stated 200 yards with little meat damage, even if you use cup and cores. Good luck!
Only a fool would sell an accurate .30-06

Best way to avoid meat damage is don't shoot them where the meat is. If you can get them to strike a broadside pose for you, you are good to go!

anything just below the ear works wonders!
A thru and thru lung shot is a killer without any credible meat loss.

You can still buy 30-06 armor piercing rounds if you want the cleanest hole posible.

9.3x62 has done the least meat damage for me out of .270 and 7x57 and 7-300wsm. that being with swift a-frames

I can tell you that it ain't a .300WM shooting a 165 SGK, impacting a doe quartering away and looking back over her shoulder at you, when the bullet hits on the point of her shoulder...
Scrap that shoulder....
And, those ribs....
And, that neck...
And, that other shoulder...

A 8-bore BP rifle cuts a beautifully clean .825 hole thru deer, no bloodshot meat, no schrapnel damage, just a clean hole w/ massive leakage. I remember the first WT buck I took to the butcher, He called a few days later and ask "Did You run a damn rock bar thru that deer? what did You shoot him with?" LMAO

Robin Hood is lerking about!
Well I used both the .243 Winchester in an 85 grain bullet and my 25-06 with a 117 Hornady bullet, also the 120 Nosler Partition with a 120 grain bullet. I don't aim for the shoulder unless it is a trophy rack with the 1/4 bore. None of the above have showed any excessive meat loss in past years.
